Finally a shoe made for women! With input from Nike SB team riders Lacey Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Sarah Meurle and Josie Millard Nike SB designed a shoe specifically for a snug fit. Focussed on the female foot with a narrower arch, tapered heel and mellower toe piece than on a standard men’s skate shoe. The Bruin High delivers more comfort and better board control for narrower feet.

Materials & durability
Sole
The shoe has a vulcanized sole with a herringbone tread for reliable grip and flexibility. The Nike Zoom Air insole provides cushioning in the heel for some extra impact. The added toe bumper both assists with flick and adds some extra durability.
Upper
The shoe’s upper is mostly made from suede with blind stitching and partially covered by the classic Swoosh.
At the top-back of the shoe a mesh collar piece is implemented to maintain some comfort to the shoe despite its high collar and stiff heel.
The Bruin Hi compensates the lack of air holes with a thin padded mesh constructed tongue for some air circulation.
Sizing
The Bruin Hi fits true to size made for skaters with narrow feet. If you have wide feet you should check for another model like the Blazer Mid
Break-in
Thanks to the vulcanized sole & supple suede I immediately skated them like I wore them for weeks.
Boardfeel & grip
A 360 degree approach, suede covers the whole shoe & the outsole has an extra herringbone traction pattern for that extra flick when you need it.
Conclusion
The Nike SB Bruin Hi the first skate shoe focussed for a thinner foot. A sturdy full suede shoe with great ankle support great for technical skateboarding.
